Occupational health care provider Jobfit Health Group has been awarded a $5 million contract by Toyota Australia to operate an onsite health centre at its Altona plant in Victoria.
Under the three-year contract which began on 14 January 2013, Jobfit will manage an experienced team of health professionals who will monitor the health of Toyota’s employees, conduct medicals, assessments, provide first aid treatment and be involved in the workers’ compensation process to achieve sustainable return to work outcomes.
The latest contract win further builds on Jobfit’s growing onsite services offering, having operated onsite medical services for clients across a broad range of industries including mining, health and manufacturing.
The health service will be available to all 2905 Toyota employees at the manufacturing site in Altona for both job and non-work related health matters.
Jobfit Health Group Managing Director, Steven Harvey, said the service would help ensure Toyota’s valued employees remained fit and healthy in what could be physically demanding work.
“In 2013, Toyota Australia is planning to build more than 100,000 vehicles and 108,000 engines, which is hard and intensive work,” Mr Harvey said.
“This partnership demonstrates first hand that Toyota takes the health and wellbeing of its workforce seriously,” Mr Harvey said.
Jobfit is going from strength to strength, having earned itself a place in the Business Review Weekly’s highly coveted 2012 Fast 100 list at number 77.
The company’s national footprint currently stands at 26 centres across Australia and 250 staff, which is expected to grow further as a result of the Toyota Australia contract.
