In August 2020, leading rail transport provider Sydney Trains entrusted Jobfit with overseeing the health of its more than 12,000 employees, joining a long list of rail transport organisations that Jobfit supports across Australia.
To ensure the health and wellbeing of Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink employees, Jobfit’s health professionals undertake approximately 6,000 health assessments each year. Among the services provided are:
- Pre-employment and periodic medicals
- Fitness for duty assessments
- Health surveillance
- Injury management
- Statutory rail safety worker’s medicals
As with many other rail companies in Australia, Jobfit provides a Chief Medical Officer to Sydney Trains, enabling collaboration with the broader Jobfit medical team, as well as providing best-practice medical expertise.
Along with the Chief Medical Officer role, Jobfit’s specialist rail doctors bring niche expertise to the field. This offering is one of the primary reasons for Jobfit’s strong position as a workforce health provider in the rail transport sector.
Jobfit Health Group CEO, Vikas Dogra, spoke to the significance of this partnership with Sydney Trains, particularly during the challenging COVID-19 circumstances that the partnership began under.
“It was extremely rewarding to welcome Sydney Trains to Jobfit, especially given the challenges COVID-19 presented and continues to present – both for the health and the transport industries. The team worked very hard to secure this partnership and we’re proud to now be supporting the health and wellbeing of Sydney Trains’ workforce.
“We applaud Sydney Trains for putting their employees’ health first during such trying and uncertain times.
“Our proven track record and expertise in the delivery of Rail Safety Worker Health Assessments, combined with our tailored and innovative approach to booking and reporting ensures an integrated and streamlined process.”
